Lynda King
December 1961 - April 2021 (age 59)
Those who had the honor of knowing Lynda King remember her for the countless stories of divine appointments and adventures that came her way. Gifted with a captivating storytelling ability, Lynda guided, coaxed, and supported many on their own adventures. She often said the universe can't hear the word "No" so you must always do the thing, go on the trip, start the adventure. And what a set of adventures Lynda had around the world. Many say they have left her presence feeling more positive after spending time with her.
Purpose. Passion.
Of all the global places she knew, none lit up Lynda’s face quite like Maher Ashram. Her eyes would dance as she told stories of deep love, connection and profound resilience of the countless residents at Maher. Her commitment and faith in Maher was lovingly relentless. Steady. And gentle.

In Memory of Lynda
As friends and colleagues, we are committed to funding a Maher home in Lynda’s honor
Since her passing, many have reflected on her touch, her impact on Maher, and the ways in which she drew others to learn, grow, and stretch their arms around the stark beauty of India and its people. Among Maher’s many current projects, a building dedicated to women will serve as a memorial in Lynda’s name. Located in Sanaswadi (Pune), this home will support women with a range of mental health needs. A wing of the home will also support many destitute couples. Opportunities abound for those who live under the protections and support that Maher has to offer; Lynda’s time at Maher over the years have been priceless; her impact immeasurable. In the spirit of continuing Lynda’s legacy of commitment to the Maher community, we invite donations to support this building. Our goal is to fully fund the Sanaswadi building by raising $135,000.
